  • Description

The Genetic Literacy Project (GLP) takes its tagline—Science Not Ideology—seriously. The GLP stands for transparency and challenges bias. Funded by grants from independent foundations and charities, it is a nonpartisan media-based science educational nonprofit promoting ‘constructively disruptive’ innovations in a range of areas: sustainable agricultural biotechnology, biomedicine and gene editing, vaccines, gene drives to control the vector of diseases by insects and rodents, and the transformative role of artificial intelligence in science. GLP engages the public, media, and policymakers but ranges beyond that: We encourage transparent regulations that spur innovation. We challenge misinformation and disinformation. We do not compete with genetics-focused publications or any science news site. Rather, we analyze rather than just report, providing meaning and context. Committed to spurring dialogue, GLP presents a variety of informed viewpoints to challenge ideological silos and partners across partisan divides. GLP stands by two principles: ‘Science Not Ideology’ and ‘Fact-Based Science to Serve the Public Interest.’
