This online portal and accompanying white paper outline opportunities for regulatory cooperation on agricultural biotechnology and provide access to helpful tools and information.
Why?
The Policy Approaches Document and accompanying online resources were developed in response to needs identified in the APEC High Level Policy Dialogue on Agricultural Biotechnology (HLPDAB), which asked for practical tools and capacity building to enable economies to cooperatively improve agricultural biotechnology regulation, communication, and trade.
How?
Progressing through a series of workshops and consultations with APEC member economies, an outline describing useful information and examples of regulatory cooperation efforts was approved by the HLPDAB at the 2023 plenary meeting. The outline has been developed into a "living" white paper hosted on this website, along with elaborated examples and links to tools and information that can help economies make practical decisions to advance regulatory cooperation around agricultural biotechnology.
