About Us
Agriculture and Food Systems Institute (AFSI)
The Agriculture and Food Systems Institute developed the Policy Approaches Document as a tool for advancing regional cooperation on agricultural biotechnology regulation.
Advancing Science for Public Good
We are an independent nonprofit organization that advances science for the public benefit. Our mission is to achieve safe and sustainable agri-food, health, and environmental systems that improve the world. We do this through applied research, capacity-building, education, databases, and outreach.
Trusted Science That Improves Lives
Scientists and others in civil society, government and intergovernmental organizations, industry, and academia look to AFSI as a source of trusted science on emerging issues. Our publicly accessible resources advance understanding and inform policy on agricultural systems, products of biotechnology, sustainable nutrition security, food safety, and related issues.
Resources on Emerging Issues
AFSI disseminates research on emerging issues and shares knowledge and data through publications, tools, and databases. We foster scientific innovation across disciplines, sectors, and geographies through collaborative research, symposia, and workshops.
