Developments in Delegations on the Safety Assessment of Novel Foods and Feeds, May 2023 – February 2024

The Working Party for the Safety of Novel Foods and Feeds (WP-SNFF) is a subsidiary body of the Chemicals and Biotechnology Committee of the OECD. The WP-SNFF aims to assist countries in evaluating the potential risks of novel foods and feeds derived from genetically-engineered organisms, foster communication and mutual understanding of relevant regulations in countries, and facilitate harmonisation in risk/safety assessment of products from modern biotechnology. This programme encourages information sharing, promotes harmonised practices and contributes to prevent duplication of efforts among countries, while consolidating high food and feed safety standards.
